Weekend Getaway at Montage Laguna Beach, California

What could be more dreamy than a weekend getaway in a breezy, gorgeous, romantic coastal town of Laguna beach in California! It’s the perfect place for a tropical weekend away, romantic honeymoon, trip with your friends, or just a relaxing spa experience. Falling in love with this quintessential California coastal town is an easy thing to do. 

Despite the fact that it’s less than two hours from Los Angeles, Laguna Beach is a whole other kind of paradise. It has a very relaxed and inviting vibe, beaches are much more idyllic, the SoCal energy is in full force, and on top of it food is delicious.

For our weekend getaway, we chose the most aesthetically pleasing and luxurious hotel – Montage Laguna Beach. Perched on a coastal bluff above the Pacific, with unrivaled views of the ocean, surrounded by tall palm trees, Montage Laguna Beach is such an amazing place that you really won’t want to leave!

The Montage Lobby

As soon as you enter this property you feel its grandeur by the look of its sprawling lobby with top notch furnishing, one of its kind bar, wall to wall windows and of course the balcony with never ending ocean views. This lobby is the centerpiece of the resort, which provides light snacks, cocktails, and live entertainment. You can expect world-class entertainment daily from singers and pianists who have traveled and performed with well-known bands and musicians. 

Accommodation

The best amenity of Montage is that every guestroom, suite, and villa opens up to the ocean to provide you with a relaxing and rejuvenating experience that’s hard to find anywhere else. Afterall every guest deserves a pampered feeling of luxury and elegance. 

We stayed in an Ocean Coastal Suites offering spectacular views of the tidal pools and waves splashing the shoreline coves, as well as views of the pool area. We were welcomed by some delicious treats in our room, and specially curated alcohol rack. The room aesthetics were of calm coastal vibes with refreshing aromas of the ocean breeze.

Additinal resort amenties include access to the spa, pool, fitness center, yoga classes, and business center. If you’re interested in a suite or villa, the Montage Laguna Beach has many options that can comfortably accommodate larger families and parties. 

In-room breakfast and dining 

When your suite and ocean view are too delightful to leave, sometimes it’s best to just sit back, relax and bring Laguna’s culinary arts to you in-room. Montage Laguna Beach has 24-hour in-room dining offers a first-class menu for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or late-night fare. During our stay, we enjoyed our morning breakfast while watching the beautiful sunrise from our balcony. 

Mosaic Pool

Mosaic pool is the center of attraction of Montage Laguna. It’s the perfect pool to rest your body and soul at and enjoy some California sunshine. Whether it is seeking relaxation inside the pool, or some cultural immersion in the area with live music, there’s something to do for everyone. We both spent one of the afternoons sitting here, reading our novels. The best part is you can also order food. This is one of the resort’s “casual” restaurants and it’s open air with breathtaking views.

Spa 

It’s our most favorite part of the vacation, the moment we arrived here we were looking forward to our spa time. Montage Laguna spa is no lesser than its own world. It has the most peaceful and tranquil vibe. Our spa relaxation started with aromatherapy Himalayan salt stone massage, a relaxation hydrotherapy experience, followed by chilling in the infinity pool of dreams overlooking the pacific ocean. 

S’mores by the firepit experience

From kids to adults, everyone will enjoy this experience of making s’mores by the firepit while sunset brings vibrant colors all over the beach and fairy lights turn on to give the most beautiful evening vibe. Montage has the perfect kit for you and your family to enjoy this experience, just ask the front desk and you’ll be set!

Shopping Experience

Well, there’s no activity as therapeutic as shopping, right? And the best part is you don’t have to go far, the shops at Montage Laguna Beach are one of a kind specialty galleries. These boutiques feature items created by noted and emerging designers and small, family-owned producers. Every product is hand selected to appeal to the most discerning travelers. 

Dining 

Food is our love language, and Montage Laguna went above and beyond for every meal! We dined at the on-site specialty restaurant – The Loft.

We started with some delicious cocktails. For Appetizers we had oysters, corn soup, baja bluefin tuna chutoro and I couldn’t choose one as my favorite since everything was delicious.

For mains, my absolute favorite was coffee crusted prime New York steak! I would also recommend pork chops, baja striped sea bass from the other mains we ordered.

The meal is obviously not complete without some desserts – we had white chocolate profiterole, chocolate sphere, vanilla panna cotta and supremely delicious chocolate molten cake.
